چکیده
Little is known about the real energy potential of thermoactive underground infrastructures, such as railway stations, that can act a heating/cooling provider for built environment. This study presents results thermomechanical full-scale in situ testing and numerical analysis train station. The thermal performance related geostructural impact portion new infrastructure (UEI) installed at Lancy-Bachet station Geneva (Switzerland) are analyzed. Heating cooling tests simulating operative geothermal conditions considered. Particular attention given to (i) monitored wall–tunnel hydrothermal interactions, (ii) response UEI inputs (iii) behavior geostructure. Among main this study, it shown how tunnel considerably varies on seasonal basis, while circulation completely drives airflow tunnel. shows strong heat storage due conductive transfers between geostructure soil, lower fluxes detected interface. extraction magnitude with respect because limited range fluid temperatures concurrent action temperature variations boundaries affecting materials within UEI. Preliminary guidelines test execution infrastructures also reported. suggests different wall behaviors vertical longitudinal directions. Low-magnitude strains recorded, mechanical capacity existing satisfactorily sustain actions.

Physicochemical Characterization of Airborne Particulate Matter at a Mainline Underground Railway Station
Underground railway stations are known to have elevated particulate matter (PM) loads compared to ambient air. As these particles are derived from metal-rich sources and transition metals may pose a risk to health by virtue of their ability to catalyze generation of reactive oxygen species (ROS), their potential enrichment in underground environments is a source of concern. Compared to coarse (...
متن کاملthe effectiveness of strategy-based instruction in teaching english as a second or foreign language: a meta-analysis of experimental studies
a large number of single research studies on the effects of strategy-based instruction (sbi) in teaching english as a foreign or second language has been conducted so far. however, the lack of a comprehensive meta-analysis targeting the effectiveness of english language sbi is observed. moreover, the findings of experimental studies regarding the context of the english language, proficiency lev...
Design, Implementation and Experimental Results of a Wireless Sensor Network for Underground Metro Station
Wireless sensor networks provide a prominent approach for environmental monitoring system in many different scenarios. Typically, sensors communicate through a mesh network architecture, in which each device functions also as a relay for other devices. The usage of multi-hop wireless paths raises the challenge of achieving robust communication and low energy consumption while optimizing the sys...
متن کاملMulticriteria decision analysis (MCDA): Central Porto high-speed railway station
Over recent years, Portugal has been working towards their integration in the trans-European high-speed railway network. While in Spain several new high-speed lines are already under construction or beginning operation, in Portugal the necessary studies are still being carried out. One of these studies concerned the location of one of the high-speed railway stations to be built in the city of P...
متن کاملVibration Generated by Underground Railway Trains
The control of vibration generated by railways in tunnels is complicated by the dynamic interaction between tunnel and track. Conventional methods (floating slab track, ballast mats, under-sleeper pads) do not perform as well as might be expected and it is the purpose of this paper to explore the sources of error. The major factors which must be taken into account pertain to the three-dimension...
